Walmart Los Angeles. Save money. Live better.

Downtown Los Angeles

About the New Store

As part of our healthier food initiative, we committed to expanding access to fresh groceries by opening stores in parts of the country where customers are underserved.

Downtown Los Angeles is a place where we think Walmart can be part of the solution for residents who want more affordable food choices close to home.  As a result, we plan to open Walmart Neighborhood Market at 701 W. Cesar E Chavez Avenue.

The store will offer a quick and convenient shopping experience for customers who need a broad assortment of fresh produce, meats and dairy products, frozen foods, dry goods, pharmacy and consumables…all at our famous Every Day Low Prices.

First opened in 1998, there are now 167 Walmart Neighborhood Markets, each employing about 95 associates. A typical store is about 38,000 square feet.

This new store also will create additional economic activity for this part of downtown Los Angeles. From temporary jobs for construction to long-term jobs and career opportunities for associates, it will help put residents back to work; and create new sustainable economic activity and foot traffic to the surrounding retailers.

We look forward to providing you with fresh, affordable groceries at our new Neighborhood Market soon.
