Downey Walmart Neighborhood Market Starts Hiring
Hiring is under way for the new Walmart Neighborhood Market.
Walmart will hire about 65 people to work at the 33,000-square-foot grocery store that is slated to open in late fall at 12270 Paramount Blvd. in Downey. In order to accommodate the demand, the retailer leased office space from the Downey YMCA at 11531 Downey Ave.
The hiring center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. Applicants should apply online first at http://careers.walmart.com.
For job seekers who wish to complete an application on-site, there are also a limited number of computer kiosks at the hiring center.
Full- and part-time employees are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions. Most staff will begin work in September to help prepare the grand opening.
